寬永通寶，是日本第108代天皇水尾天皇的年號。寬永二年（1625年，明熹宗天啟五年），日本開始鑄造“寬永通寶”銅錢，這一款銅錢流通民間后極受歡迎，一直從水尾天皇持續鑄造到孝明天皇，直到1867年才停止流通使用，共長達242年經歷了十代天皇，是日本使用時間最長，鑄造數量最多的銅錢。

得知真相的乾隆皇帝一道圣旨，即嚴禁商船攜帶倭錢，否則嚴懲不貸。至于民間收藏的，則由官府出面收回，至此在中國流通了近兩百年的“寬永通寶”才算是正式正式停用
