江南省造戊戌年光緒元寶(1898年)庫平七錢二分銀幣(大英文珍珠龍長刺),系光緒二十四年(1898年)官鑄公開發行的機制銀幣.江南省（南京），是我國重要的通商口岸之一。清代時期，隨著對外貿易的日益發展，對銀幣的需求量也就逐年增加，外國銀元逐漸占領了中國的流通市場。廣東和湖北最初開始鑄造銀元的時候，江蘇省每年要撥銀兩給湖北省，兌換湖北銀元流通使用。兩江總督劉珅一于光緒22年（1896年）上奏朝廷，請求開鑄銀元。批準后在南京建造造幣廠。光緒23年（1897年），開始鑄造江南省光緒元寶銀幣，江南省銀元分為若干干支年銀元，版別也是中國銀元最多的。本品傳世包漿,美品。光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。
